Meetings

ASHRAE March Lunch Seminar 3-5-18

Topic – Engineering Field Inspections for Health Care Facilities

Speaker – Kennith R. Wash, HFDP, PMP, LEED AP BD+C

Abstract:  Ken will take us through the following topics/questions: ·        Field Inspections ·        Code Requirements ·        Regulatory Requirements ·       Things to look for in the field   Bio: Ken is Director of Healthcare Sector for Dunlap and Partners Engineers.  Ken has worked in the consulting engineering profession for twenty-nine years, with a primary disciplinary focus on mechanical (HVAC) design and engineering. He has been involved with and has lead projects from the proposal phase through the construction administration phase. Ken has a strong background in the healthcare market sector. Ken holds two Applied Sciences degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering Technology – with specializations in Architectural/Industrial Design and Building Construction Management. He received his ASHRAE – Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification in February, 2015, Project Management Institute – Project Management Professional (PMP) credential in February, 2009 and LEED AP credential in September of 2007 and BD+C specialization in June, 2012. Ken is a contributing author to the Professional Services Management Journal (PSMJ). PSMJ Resources, Inc. is a leading authority, publisher, and consultant on the effective management of architecture, engineering, and construction firms.

Have you ever heard the saying, “it’s a small world”? This certainly rings true once you join ASHRAE’s global network, ASHRAE members bring this big world of ours together through the exchange of technical information, writing of standards and through committee work and networking.

Scholarships

Recognizing the need to support the future members of our chapter, The Richmond Chapter founded the Frederick J. Weiss memorial Scholarship. In 1998 the Chapter lost its Secretary when Robert 'Bobby' Blue died unexpectedly. The Chapter immediately established a second scholarship in his honor.

2018 Richmond ASHRAE Chapter Golf Outing

Monday, June 11, 2018 at Hermitage Country Club  We are back at Hermitage Country Club in Goochland. We have opportunities for sponsors to help cover the cost and still have a fund raising event. A box lunch and driving range is included for all golfers.   Four Man Captain’s Choice Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 teams. Closest to the pin and longest drive contests will be awarded as individual prizes.
